£190 Per Couple (Saturday Day Course)
Malmaison
Birmingham is located conveniently in the ‘’oh-so-chic’
Mailbox shopping centre next to Harvey Nichols and backing onto a superb
waterside plaza. The hotel was originally part of a 1960’s Royal Mailbox
sorting office, but after a complete redesign by the award winning team,
Jestico + Whiles, it opened its door in October 2002 as one of Birmingham’s
luxury hotels.
The feel
of the hotel is modern and easy with Malmaison’s typical décor
of chocolate, ecru and cream colour combos highlighted with flashes of vibrancy
from unusually tactile furnishings and fabrics. A dramatic staircase takes
Malmaison guests from reception to the hotel’s bold and sophisticated
bar and 155 cover brasserie on the first floor. The bar, nicknamed the ‘champagne
bar of Birmingham’ is a busy, buzzy hang out for the city’s
mover and shakers. The brasserie is full of little pockets of privacy and
led by head chef, Ray Brown, provides food that is tasty and wholesome.
Accommodation at the hotel is typically Malmaison with each room having its own individual feel. All are equipped with slinky lighting, power showers, CD players, CD libraries, cable TV, personal bar and other little luxuries such as toiletries that you’re encouraged to take with you. The rooms are large, light and calm with a contemporary feel providing plenty of space to relax and enjoy your stay.
For
those who wish to indulge further Malmaison also boasts a hi-tech gym and
a new spa area; ‘Le petit Spa’. This is a candle-lit oasis of
calm offering extensive treatments, a bubbling spa, crystal steam room,
sauna, relaxation area and showers that give you the choice of Caribbean
Rain or Forest Mist.
Good birth getaway courses are held in one of the bespoke business rooms. So if time is short and a one day Saturday course appeals you can be assured that quality and high style will still be experienced. The rest of the weekend is then your own to plan and enjoy as you wish. Maybe you’ll decide to extend your break in this stylish hotel that is an alternative to the mainstream chains. A hotel that is keen to do things differently within the marketplace, exceeding people’s expectations with its blend of flamboyant design and refreshingly spot-on innovation in service.
